Gerrold, David

*** Minor Lesbian Character

Category: Science Fiction
Summary: YA novel in the not-too-distant future about a boy's struggle to make sense of his life while caught in the middle of a custody battle. Started out slow, but got better as the novel progressed, though I did think someone should throw Stinky ouf of an airlock. The mother has a female lover. Gay men are also main characters, and the society has an interesting twist when it comes to homosexuality.

Greenland, Colin

*** Main Bi Character

Category: Science Fiction
Summary: Tabitha Jute is an awesome heroine. She can not only pilot spaceships, she can repair them after crash landings as well. She’s smart and brave and very human. I liked her a lot. I hated the main male character, however, which it made it hard to read the book. Tabitha didn’t care much for him either, and I liked the book much better after she abandoned him on Venus.
